Wuhu rolls out festive offerings for Mid-Autumn, National Day holiday

Wuhu is gearing up for a vibrant holiday season as the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day Golden Week approach, with major scenic spots across the city unveiling a rich lineup of cultural and tourism activities, the municipal bureau of culture and tourism said.
Visitors can look forward to seas of chrysanthemums, pet shows, theatrical galas, long-street banquets, and harvest celebrations at the city's "Joyful Wuhu" attractions.
Fantawild Oriental Heritage will host a series of events across its five themed zones from Sept 25 to 27 and Oct 1 to 7. The lineup includes theatrical performances, the Dreamlike Pageant Parade, a traditional Chinese opera showcase, a pagoda floral spectacle, and a large-scale drone show by a thousand aircraft.
Dapu Rural World is hosting its 2026 Mid-Autumn and National Day festival under the theme "Colorful Autumn, Trendy Dapu" from Sept 22 to Nov 25. Colorful installations create an immersive autumn landscape with picture-perfect backdrops. A single ticket grants access to more than 10 rides and attractions, including a glass bridge, a high-altitude water slide, a rainbow slide, and a swinging ship.
Squirrel Town will stage a national defense science exhibition from Sept 25, 2026, to Jan 3, 2027, on the first floor of the Ferris wheel complex. The "Big Bites Market" will run from Sept 25 to 27 and Oct 1 to 7 at the north square. The Squirrel Mini Theater will put on shows from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. during the National Day holiday, while the limited-edition Squirrel Parade will take place from 3:30 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. daily.
Wuhu Ancient City will host a Mid-Autumn long-street banquet at Qiaolou Square at 7 p.m. on Sept 25 and 26. The event features a themed performance, "Moonlit Wuhu: A Feast Along the Long Street," alongside stalls from an intangible cultural heritage market. On Sept 25, 200 mooncakes will be given out free of charge. A decorative display exhibition, "Drop-by Visit," co-presented by Wuhu Museum and Wuhu Ancient City, will also open. A malatang (spicy hot pot) festival will run from Oct 1 to 5.
Jiuzi Performing Arts Town presents the 7th Wuhu Chrysanthemum Culture Festival, themed "Huizhou Merchants Alive," from Sept 25 to Oct 7. Highlights include a Tang dynasty-style sea of chrysanthemums, an immersive Li Bai adventure game, and a Huizhou merchant-themed garden fair. A full day of traditional Chinese performances awaits, including the amphibious show "Poet Immortal Li Bai" and the processional performance "Awakening to Huizhou Merchants." Visitors can stroll the chrysanthemum garden by day and enjoy performances by night.
Beluga Ocean Park will celebrate the national holiday with a polar animal gala from Oct 1 to 7. The program features penguin quizzes, a polar welcome parade, a mass singalong of the national anthem, and adorable animal performances including a mermaid show and "Penguin Feeding Time."
Districts and counties across the city have also arranged a variety of activities. The lineup includes the 2026 National Day Fun Week in Wuwei; the 2026 Chinese Farmers' Harvest Festival under the theme "Harvest Opens a New Chapter, Solid Work Drives Revitalization," along with the 6th Jiujiang Harvest Season from Sept 22 to Oct 8 at the Baimao Rural Tourism Base; and the "Spirit of the River Crossing Campaign Shines on China" Red Culture Tourism Festival at Banzi Islet from Oct 1 to 7.
