Construction of the Wuhu Swimming and Diving Hall at the Huajin Campus of Anhui Normal University has entered its final phase, with the steel roof expected to be fully installed by the end of this month and the entire project slated for completion by year-end, according to the Wuhu Municipal Key Engineering Construction Management Office.
A site visit showed the main structure has been completed, with steel roof truss assembly and roof waterproofing work finished. Workers are now carrying out the final steel roof installation, with multiple construction teams operating simultaneously to keep the project on schedule.
The project's external rainwater and sewage systems have been completed, while curtain wall installation, smart equipment setup, and interior decoration of the venue and pools are advancing in parallel. Major decoration work and equipment installation are expected to be largely wrapped up by late November, the project manager said.
The facility is a Grade-A multi-purpose swimming and diving hall capable of hosting international aquatic events. It features a 50-meter standard competition pool, a diving pool, and a 50-meter warm-up pool to meet the needs of professional competitions, training sessions, and public fitness programs.
The building has two floors above ground and one basement, with clearly divided functional zones. The first floor houses competition pools, while the second floor contains a training pool, spectator seating, and a lobby. The basement is reserved for equipment rooms and a parking garage.
As a key public sports facility, the project will enhance Wuhu's capacity to host large-scale water sports events, improve the city's sports infrastructure, and better meet residents' demand for fitness and recreational activities.
