A short video by Anhui Polytechnic University has been shortlisted among the top 100 works in a Ministry of Education contest celebrating outstanding teachers.

Titled "Teaching with Heart, Rooted in the Countryside," the entry was selected from the 2026 "Touching Moments" collection.

Launched in April, the campaign aims to promote the fine tradition of respecting teachers and valuing education while showcasing the dedication and spirit of teachers in the new era. It received over 2,600 submissions, from which 40 winning works and 100 shortlisted pieces were selected following technical screening and expert review.

The video profiles Huang Qinru, a teacher at the university's School of Textiles and Garments. As an inheritor of the Wuhu Sizing and Dyeing Technique, an item of intangible cultural heritage (ICH), Huang has spent eight years reviving the nearly lost craft.

Working with her students in the countryside, she restored ancient dyeing methods recorded in Tiangong Kaiwu, a classic Chinese text on traditional craftsmanship. Her efforts led to the technique being recognized as a municipal-level ICH item and the establishment of a dedicated studio.

She also extended her teaching beyond the campus, guiding students to launch an entrepreneurship project in Xiaotao Village. The ICH initiative has drawn 20 young entrepreneurs to settle in the village, breathing new life into the once-dormant community.
